Building Research Cultures in Practice: The Darlington Model and findings from Social Care Research Ambassadors’ exploratory study on neurodiversity
In this interactive session, Martin Webster (Workforce Development Manager at Darlington Borough Council) will share good practice on supporting the development of research cultures within practice.
He will present the ‘Darlington Model: a sustainable approach for embedding practitioner research in practice’. This model has recently been shortlisted in the national Social Worker of the Year Award, for the Practitioner-led Research Award category.
This will be followed by Chantahl Rodwell (Co-production Lead at Cumberland Council) and Louise Colley (Occupational Therapist at Darlington Borough Council) who will present the findings from last year’s Social Care Research Ambassadors’ exploratory qualitative study. “It’s about adapting to the person not the label”: Exploring social care practitioners’ understanding of neurodiversity.
The session is aimed at all those working or researching in social care.
