Workshop explores maternal mental health projects in our region

Blog

Notes and key findings from a recent workshop to review two maternal mental health projects in our region,

Colleagues from across the region met in January to discuss two key maternal mental health projects: the Ways to Wellness-hosted VCSE Maternal Mental Health Services project, and Newcastle University’s Designing Accessible Maternal Mental Health Services: The MaMS Study.

The workshop was led by Ways to Wellness, alongside colleagues from the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) North East and North Cumbria (NENC), and the Perinatal Mental Health Clinical Network team.

It was chaired by Ways to Wellness patron, Professor Chris Drinkwater, and brought together clinicians, academics, link workers and social prescribing project leads, VCSE and charity infrastructure organisations, commissioners and health and care professionals across maternity and mental health.

A briefing summary, notes from the day, and opportunity to sign up for future workshops can be read here: Maternal Mental Health Services link worker prototype workshop event and progress update | News | Ways to Wellness.
