Louise Maguire – Social Care Research Fellow
I qualified as a social worker in 1999 and have worked in a number of Local Authorities. My commitment and interest throughout my career has been to work in safeguarding services. It has been personally challenging but also rewarding, giving me a varied and fulfilling career. I have worked as a social worker, advanced practitioner and team manager at Hull City Council and East Riding of Yorkshire Council. I have been a service manager in Cumberland for the last 9 years.
In the past I have completed a number of different academic degree programs and I have masters qualifications in Development Studies, Social Work and an MBA which have all involved an element of research.
Summary of research project
The focus of my research project will be on service user experiences of child protection processes and social work interventions from initial contact, child protection investigation (S47), Initial Child Protection Conference and 1st Core Group.
