Dr Eugene Tang is our Deputy Research Capacity Development Lead.
He is a General Practitioner and a NIHR Advanced Fellow at Newcastle University.
He leads a programme of research around earlier detection of cognitive impairment and dementia particularly in high-risk groups such as stroke. Through this research, he aims to reduce health inequalities and to improve primary care pathways to optimise the care of patients in the community.
He also has several capacity building roles within NIHR infrastructures including the strategic lead for Primary Care within NIHR Research Support Service delivered by Newcastle University and Partners, and the NIHR Research Delivery Network’s (North East and North Cumbria) Primary Care settings lead.
