Adult social care in crisis: How can a fair, sustainable adult social care sector be created?

Creative image

Workshop:  Monday 23 October 11 am until 1pm

Northumbria University, City Campus (Room details will be sent after booking)
Lunch provided

Care workers provide vital services yet there is a growing crisis in adult social care. The population is ageing, staff vacancies are high and home care and residential care providers are struggling to recruit and retain staff.

Please join us for an exciting discussion and networking workshop which will explore these issues.

Live performances from the ‘Beyond Caring’ play (based on interviews with staff, residents and relatives) will be used to spotlight challenges in adult social care. We aim to bring together a wide range of stakeholders including care workers, those with lived experience of care, care providers, practitioners, commissioners, the voluntary sector, health and social care staff and students and researchers to help shape research proposals and policy and practice recommendations.

This event is supported by the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) North East and North Cumbria (NENC).
