RIPEN Network North East Academic Research Forum – Feb 2024 meeting

Event: Wednesday, 7 February 2024, 1pm until 2 pm

Speaker: Dr Sarah Combes – Sarah is a clinical academic nurse working across the University of Surrey and St Christopher’s Hospice. Her interests focus on palliative and end of life care, particularly for older people living with complex needs and their unpaid carers, workforce support and development, and research capacity building.

Title: What matters most to older people living with advancing frailty?

Overview: Older people living with advancing frailty (OPWF) are an unrepresented, often unheard population, and yet are predicted to become one of the largest uses of palliative care. The PALLUP study aims to understand the changing needs of this population, and how services adapt and respond to what matters most to the older person and their unpaid carers.
