Professor Clare Bambra appointed as a new NIHR Senior Investigator

NIHR ARC North East and North Cumbria (NENC) Inequalities lead, Professor Clare Bambra has been appointed as a new NIHR Senior Investigator.

As well as leading the ARC NENC Inequalities and Marginalised Communities theme, Professor Bambra is also the NIHR ARC’s national lead for Inequalities, and also a lead for the NIHR ARC’s national priority consortium for Health and Care Inequalities.

She is also a Professor of Public Health at Newcastle University, and a Senior Investigator in several large research collaborations including Fuse, the Centre for Translational Reseach in Public Health, the NIHR Policy Research Unit in Behavioural Science and the NIHR School for Public Health Research.

She has also recently co-led a number of significant pieces of work with the Northern Health Science Alliance (NHSA) on regional health inequalities and the impacts of COVID-19.
