
Dr Shona Haining supports our NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) North East and North Cumbria (NENC) as our Partnerships Lead and Deputy Implementation Lead.
She is Head of Research and Evidence at NHS North of England Commissioning Support Unit, with a background of working in the NHS and associated industries, and has worked in many Research and Development roles operationally and strategically in the North East for many years.
She is passionate about the professional and essential role research can play in the whole pathway of research from ideas to implementing outcomes to improve patient care.
She is skilled in research design, delivery, implementation and relationship development across the health care sector regionally and nationally.
She is also a Member of NIHR Editorial Board for centre of Dissemination.
She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Medical Biochemistry from Sheffield University.
