Background
Joe is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Sunderland and a Research Fellow in the multi-morbidity, ageing and frailty theme of the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) North East and Cumbria (NENC).
Joe’s research interests lay at the intersection of experimental psychology and the assessment and maintenance of brain health.
Areas of work
Joe’s recent projects within the ARC theme includes the development of tools for neurocognitive assessment in collaboration with Dr Tamlyn Watermeyer (ARC Dementia Fellow based at Northumbria) and a second project investigating the use of virtual reality in care homes, as an intervention for maintaining brain health.
