Professor Samantha Harrison
Deputy Director, Lead for Academic Career Development
Samantha Harrison is a Professor in Respiratory Rehabilitation at Teesside University, and also currently holds an NIHR Advanced Fellowship award.
She is a chartered physiotherapist with an international research profile in respiratory rehabilitation.
She currently holds an NIHR Advanced Fellowship award: The B-Pure project is a £1.1 million NIHR-funded programme of work to explore why people with COPD are more likely to fall – and if personalised balance training could help to reduce this.
As Deputy Director of the NIHR ARC NENC she leads on our Academic Career Development activities.
In her role as a Co-Lead of our Integration Theme, she works to build capacity in evidence-generation, knowledge transfer, networking and skill development to enhance the number of individuals from health and social care engaged in research.
