Who is this resource for?

The report will be of interest to PHD students, researchers and to public/community members.

What does it cover?

It examines good practice in user, carer and public involvement in social care research,

The NIHR is one of the principal funders of adult social care research in England and has increased funding and capacity building opportunities, including the now annual Research for Social Care call.

The Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) was commissioned by the NIHR to undertake a piece of work to identify good practice in user, carer and public involvement in social care research, explore differences between involvement in health care and in social care research, and highlight opportunities for further work.

Social care research has a long history of user, carer and public involvement and this report provides helpful guidance on where we can continue to develop and strengthen our partnership with service users, carers and the public in social care.
