Kingston University London have been working with learning disabled adults who are employed as researchers in their Faculty of Health, Social Care an Education.

A film, produced by Kingston University, demonstrates the importance of creating opportunities for people with lived experience to be employed as research assistants, to co-produce research, co-author papers and be involved in all aspects of research.

Description

Richard Keagan-Bull, Amanda Cresswell and Leon Jordan are employed as researchers at Kingston University London. They have learning disabilities and are working on three different projects with Prof Irene Tuffrey-Wijne’s team of researchers. In this video, they explain why it is important that people with a learning disability are employed as researchers – and what it is like to work at a university (2022).
