Creative Methods in Research with Children and Young People

Creative image

Creative methodologies have long been used in approaches to communicating with children and young people in healthcare contexts. Now creative methodologies are increasingly being used in research about children’s and young people’s experiences of illness, disability and healthcare. Examining the use of creative methods across applied health and research contexts helps us consider the complexities of ensuring their potential for enabling children’s and young people’s perspectives to be represented and responded to.

This webinar presents an overview of creative and collaborative approaches to communicating and researching with children and young people in projects focused on producing materials for direct use in healthcare and other projects concerned with exploring their perspectives on different aspects of their lives.
