ARCs National Inequalities and Prevention Symposium – watch online

News

Highlights from the recent ARCs National Symposium on Health Inequalities and Prevention, are now available to watch online.

In November 2022, the ARC North East and North Cumbria hosted a two-day national conference focussed on the research themes of Health and Care Inequalities, and Prevention including Behavioural Risk Factors.

The event was attended by over 100 delegates on each day, with presentations and posters from ARC colleagues nationally.

Videos from the two days are now available to view by following this link.

The videos cover speakers from both days, including research presentations.

Background to the event

In 2020, the ARC North East and North Cumbria was awarded £3.75 million from NIHR to jointly lead two national research programmes, in Health and Care Inequalities, and Prevention including Behavioural Risk Factors.

The ARC North East and North Cumbria is also responsible for ARC national leadership around the themes of Health Inequalities and Prevention.

This two-day Symposium (in York) focussed on work linked to these two key themes – covering projects from the national priority research programmes as well as other activities and wider work.

The event offered an opportunity for those involved in delivering the programmes of work funded by the NIHR’s National Priority Research Consortia into Health and Care Inequalities, and Prevention including Behavioural Risk Factors, to come together and share their work, reflections and insights, so far.

It also allowed members of the research community, practitioners, and public and community groups, to find out more about the work that’s underway, and how it aims to make a difference.
