Background to the event
The ARC North East and North Cumbria was awarded £3.75 million from NIHR (in September 2020) to jointly lead two national research programmes, in Health and Care Inequalities, and Prevention including Behavioural Risk Factors.
The ARC North East and North Cumbria is also responsible for ARC national leadership around the themes of Health Inequalities and Prevention.
This two-day Symposium focussed on work linked to these two key themes – covering projects from the national priority research programmes as well as other activities and wider work.
It offered an opportunity for those involved in delivering the programmes of work funded by the NIHR’s National Priority Research Consortia into Health and Care Inequalities, and Prevention including Behavioural Risk Factors, to come together and share their work, reflections and insights, so far.
It also allowed members of the research community, practitioners, and public and community groups, to find out more about the work that’s underway, and how it aims to make a difference.
